Hi Friends!
Happy Tuesday! Today we are talking about the Pixi Beauty PixiGlow Cake! I have recently seen this all OVER social media even though I have had it several months by now. I bought it and then kind of put it in the back of my collection. I only pulled it out recently once I saw it all over social media and decided I should actually use it!
This puppy is EXPENSIVE for a drugstore product. The PixiGlow Cakes retail for $28! Now of course, it comes with a highlighter, a blush, and a bronzer but still. That is over $9 for each powder. This face palette does come with .85 oz of product across those three powders.
There are two shade of the PixiGlow Cake – there is the GildedBare Glow and the PinkChampagne Glow. I am only talking about the GildedBare Glow today since that is the one I was most drawn to.
The Packaging
The packaging of this face palette is actually pretty cute! It has a seafoam green base and a clear lid. I like the clear lid so you can see the face palette before you grab it. It actually is pretty unique! The name of the palette (PixiGlow) is printed on the front of the lid in metallic gold letters and it is also imprinted in the powders.
The powders are all blended / pressed into one pan so there is no separation between them. Everytime I look at it, it reminds me of Neopolitan ice cream! It also seems like a slight dupe for the Kevyn Aucoin Neo-Limelight palettes.
Overall, the packaging is aesthetically pleasing but it also feel pretty cheap. I don’t mind since it does the job and I am pretty careful with my palettes but I could image someone who is more rough breaking this palette.
The Shades and Swatches
As I mentioned above, this palette has a highlighter, blush, and bronzer included it in. Although you can pick up each powder separately, you can also somewhat blend them together to make different shades.
The highlighter is a cream champagne shade which is a pretty natural highlight. It isn’t super blinding but it does look beautiful.
The blush is a shimmery pink / orange shade. It is definitely more natural than the pink blush that comes in the PinkChampagne Glow palette. It adds a nice pretty blushy glow to the cheeks.
And lastly the bronzer is a shimmery milk chocolate brown. This is a bronzer that I would wear with the blush and highlight from this palette but I probably wouldn’t reach for it on its own. It does look pretty when blended into the other powders but it looks slight muddy by itself. It might just be off because of the shimmer.
My Review
I have some mixed feelings about this palette. I think the overall quality is great – I like all three powders together. I think they make add a naturally pretty glow to the skin.
However, I don’t think this is the end all be all of face palettes either. They aren’t the most pigmented powders so you do have to build them up a bit.The entire palette is shimmery so if you don’t like that in your blush or bronzer, this is not the palette for you!
I also think this palette is TOO expensive for what it is. If someone asked for a bronzer, blush, and highlight recommendation from the drugstore, this would not be at the top of my list. However, its not at the bottom either.
I like the convenience of having all three powders in one palette. And overall, I think these powders are beautiful! It just depends on what you are looking for!
I would LOVE to know what you think of this palette. Are interested in buying it or do you already own it? What do you think of the price? Please let me know down below.
$28? REALLY?!?! Look, I really like pixi products but that’s a little rich for what they are. You are spot on for calling that out.

Right?! I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw $28! I think they are trying to transition into a high end brand.

Well, they are going to have to work on that packaging to start with, if that’s what they are after. Packaging isn’t everything. But, their product isn’t so 100% wow that cheap packaging doesn’t matter.

Agreed!! I don’t know if they really are trying to transition into a high end brand but it seems like their products get more and more expensive.

I feel like it looks a bit like children’s play make up. Does anyone else get that vibe? 🙈
