Hi Friends!
Today I have a review on the ColourPop Take Me Home palette. This is one of the few ColourPop products that released in Sephora. I think initially it was exclusive to Sephora but now it is available on ColourPop’s website. It was only $12 and absolutely worth every penny! This palette includes 3 matte shades and 3 shimmer shades. Each are a 1 gram each which is a fair amount of eye shadow.
Initial thoughts on the packaging, it is so CUTE! I love the peach cream color and the gold lettering. It does have a mirror if that is something that is important for you. And the magnetic clasp is pretty strong so it feels very comfortable to close. The names of the eyeshadows are on the back of the palette, which I know is annoying for some people but I really only care that I can find them somewhere on the palette so that doesn’t bother me.
In the top row you have:
- Issues – this is a cream peach color that matches the packaging.
- Side Tracked – this is a luxury gold glitter shade, its absolutely stunning.
- French Kiss – this is a dark brown shade.
And on the second row you have:
- Salt Water – this is a copper shimmery shade
- Popular Demand – this is a reddish brown shade, just slightly lighter than French Kiss.
- Bitter Better – this is a bright gold shimmer shade.
The shade selection is great, you can totally get a full look out of these shades and there is a lot of diversity. For me personally, the only thing that is missing is a matte white / cream shade. I always use a matte white or cream eye shadow to set my eye shadow primer. But other than that, this palette is put together very nicely.
I am very impressed with the quality of these shadows. Each one is buttery and smooth and they all blend like a dream! The only thing that I will call out is after a few hours of wear, they do get a little muddy (even after a setting spray). I am not docking any points for that though since that tends to happen on me.
For this eye look, I dipped into my NYX Love in Paris palette for the matte cream shade to set my eye lids. I then took Issues and blended that on my crease going more upwards. I then look Popular Demand and blended that in my crease, slightly lower than Issues. I then took Salt Water and pressed that all over my lid. Next I took French Kiss and blended that out in my outer V. and Lastly, I look a little bit more of Salt Water and blended that with French Kiss.
For the lower lash line, I took Issues and blended that across the entire bottom lash area. I then took Popular Demand to the middle of the lower lash line and again French Kiss on the outer part of my lower lash line.
I really like the way it turned out and I loved playing with these shadows! They’re all absolutely beautiful and great quality. I would highly recommend picking up this palette from ColourPop. You just can’t beat $12. I am excited to get some more use out of this palette!
Well, that’s all for me today folks! What is your favorite ColourPop palette? I would love to know!!
I love this little palette! Its become one of my go to palettes especially when I’m not sure what I want to do any particular day.
