So I noticed that both Too Faced and Juvia’s Place release ‘Festival Collections’ recently and I wanted to share my thoughts on the products in these collections and kind of compare them!
To be clear, I haven’t bought or tried any of these products so I really am only comparing the products that were released, the packaging, and the overall concept.
So for the Juvia’s Place ‘Festival’ Collection, they released an eye shadow palette and 2 lipsticks. Whereas the Too Faced ‘Festival’ Collection consisted 9 products (an eye shadow palette, highlighter drops, setting spray, a bronzer, a powder highlighter, a makeup brush, lip toppers in 4 shades, crème lipsticks in 4 shades, and a highlighter sticks in 2 different shades).
Right off the bat, these collections are VERY different.
Juvia’s Place collection is kind of hard to describe. I am not clear on the exact inspiration and from what I can tell on their website, there isn’t many details. The packaging all consists of this beautiful terracotta orange color with hints of gold and black. All of the colors in the palette are quite bright and vibrant as usual for Juvia’s Place.
Like I mentioned above, there are also 2 liquid lipsticks that are included in this collection. One is a deep terracotta orange that matches the packaging and the other is a black lippie. Both of these lippies are too deep for me, not really colors that I would reach for.
For the Too Faced collection, the inspiration is Peace, Love, and Unicorns. The colors are mostly pastel, iridescent pinks and baby blues. The packaging all has unicorns or rainbows on them. The colors in the palette are beautiful, I think Mystic Rain is the most unique and beautiful!
It is really interesting how different these Festival collections went. To be honest, I don’t really understand the inspiration for either collection. To me, festivals are about music, dancing, drinking, braids, and lots of people. I would have expected something with more Coachella vibes. Juvia’s Place “festival” naming doesn’t really mean anything and Too Faced “festival” is more like a magical fairy land.
Out of the two collections, I really like both the eye shadow palettes. I might pick up them up eventually but I am not impressed with the packaging or the theme. I personally am not really inspired by unicorns.
What do you think of these collections? Are you going to be picking up any of these items? Please let me know in the comments, I would love to know!
