Lorac: Pirates of the Caribbean Eyeshadow Palette First Impressions and Swatches!

Hi Friends!!

If you are an avid TJ MAXX shopper, like I am then I am sure you have seen the Lorac Pirates of the Caribbean Eyeshadow Palette there. This palette normally retails for $52 but I picked it up from TJ MAXX for $19.99. Lorac is an amazing brand and I LOVE the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. Johnny Depp was always my crush growing up so I felt like I had to buy this palette when I saw it.

This was actually a whole collection that was released in collaboration of the latest Pirates of the Caribbean movie, Dead Men Tell No Tales. In the collection, there was this eyeshadow palette, a face palette, and 6 lipstick / lip gloss shades.

The packaging for this palette is extremely detailed. You can clearly see the inspiration behind it which I think is wonderful. The uni-carton for the palette has the Pirate’s Skull / Jolly Roger on the front. The front of the palette itself is covered in a deep space design with multiple stars painted across it. The accents and writing are all in gold and the front reflects a compass which is infamous in the movie. On the side of the palette there is an opening, where you are supposed to be able to insert the face palette but it is actually pretty useless for me since I don’t own the face palette. Although I like the design of the palette, it is quite bulky. I wish they would have made it a bit flatter to make it easier to store. However my biggest complaint about the packaging is that the lid is so difficult to keep up. It constantly closes itself which is frustrating while I am trying to do my makeup.

This palette includes 18 shades, 8 matte and 10 shimmery. It also includes a nice black eyeliner which is only perfect for Captain Jack Sparrow. The eyeliner is really creamy and a deep black, I love this addition to the palette. I wish it was a full size because I feel like this is a really expensive palette and a big enough one to support a full size but oh well.

Let’s jump into the shades! In the first row, you have:

Ghostly – This is a stark white matte shade. It is great for highlighting the brow bone.

Starry Night – This is a shimmery, ocean blue. It is not as pigmented as it looks in the pan but it is still a really nice shade.

Compass – This is a light pinky gold shimmer shade. It is really beautiful when stamped with your finger on the lid.

Arrgh! – This is a deep brown almost black shimmery shade. This one is really beautiful just all over the lid.

Black Pearl – This is a weird one. I thought it would have been black but it is actually like a dark purple grey shimmery shade.

Yo Ho – This is a muted grey shimmer shade. It is great for layering on other shades just to add a little more umph to your look.

In the second row, you have:

Bones – This is a soft brown tan matte shade. It is a good transition shade.

Silvermist – This is a silver shimmer shade.

Treasure – This is a deep red shimmer shade. It is probably the most unique shade of the palette.

Tell No Tales – This is a mauve / purple matte shade.

Shiver Me – This is a shimmer version of Ghostly. Just a normal white shade.

Cursed – This is a deep black matte/shimmer shade. It has small specs of glitter in it but it comes across very matte on the eye.

And finally, in the third row, you have:

Matte-Y – This is another matte white shade.

Lost At Sea – This is a light baby blue matte shade. It’s pretty!

Pirates Chest – This is another tan matte shade. Great for a transition shade.

Sea Haze – This is a bright green shimmer shade. It is extremely unique and beautiful!

Menace – This is a deep green matte shade. This one doesn’t swatch that well, it can come across a little patchy, but it is definitely one that you can build up.

Silent Mary – This is a matte grey shade.

All of these shades were super buttery to the touch except Cursed. That one had a very interesting texture but nothing bad! I think I have to split this review into two parts because this post is starting to get long! Stay tuned for part two which will include an eye look and my final thoughts on this palette.

Let me know down below what you think of this palette so far! Did you like this collaboration?!
