I recently hauled the Benefit Cosmetics Hello Happy Soft Blur Foundation in a mini Sephora Haul a few weeks ago and ever since I have been putting this foundation to the test! I am finally ready to share my thoughts and I couldn’t wait any longer to share with all of you how much I have been loving this foundation (spoiler alert).
So I do have to say that when I initially got this foundation, I was completely surprised by how small it was! It is a super petite squeeze bottle but it does contain 1 oz. of product which is pretty standard. This foundation does retail for $29 which of course is really expensive but not as expensive as other foundations at Sephora. They have only released 12 shades so far which is not an extensive shade range but it does go from really light to really dark. I have also heard that since this is a light coverage foundation, that the shade range can be a little more flexible. And just for reference, I am in the shade 4.
The packaging is so unbelievably cute! I love the happy face on the front and I like that the bottle is the color of the foundation and the cap is just a beautiful rose gold metallic color. It is a squeeze tube which sometimes is annoying. I definitely prefer a pump but of course that is just a minor criticism. As for the packaging overall, I feel like this foundation is really different and I love it!
Benefit does say that this is a light to medium coverage foundation which I totally agree with. It does provide a really natural finish on the skin and blurs my pores and some minor imperfections. It does not cover up any of my acne though. Not even close. My acne just shines through this foundation so if that is something that is a big concern for you than this foundation definitely isn’t for you.
I have been mixing this with my Marc Jacobs Mousse Foundation from my 18 in 2018 project pan so that helps the coverage on my acne a bit. I dab the Marc Jacobs foundation a my acne spots and then spread the Hello Happy Foundation over that and then also all over the rest of my face.
This foundation just makes my skin look really healthy. It doesn’t have a particularly matte or dewy finish it just has a natural finish. Plus it has an SPF 15 in it which is a really nice addition to this foundation.
Overall, I think Benefit did an excellent job with this foundation. I will definitely continue to grab for it on a daily basis. Let me know down below if you have tried this foundation and what your thoughts were! If you haven’t tried it, what is your favorite foundation of all time!? I would love to know!
