Hi Friends!
I hope your day is going well! Today we are talking about the FAMOUS Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder. I remember hearing so many amazing things about this powder – especially when Charlotte Tilbury initially launched in Sephora. The hype completely sucked me in!
I actually bought this back in November in the Sephora VIB Sale because I definitely wanted that discount. My intention was to test and review it when Charlotte Tilbury was still new in Sephora but then I got sucked into using up my CoverGirl professional loose setting powder. So here we are!
Product Details
This setting powder comes with 3 different shades (Fair, Medium, and Dark). I am, of course, in the shade fair. It retails for $45 which is a really high price point for a setting powder. But Charlotte Tilbury is definitely a luxury brand so you are partially just paying for the name (in my opinion).
There are 8 grams of product which is a comparable amount with other pressed powders. If you break down the price per gram, it comes out to $5.60. Here are some comparisons with other brands:
- Jouer Cosmetics Soft Focus Hydrate + Set Powder: $30 / 6g = $5 per gram
- IT Cosmetics Airbrush Perfecting Powder: $35 / 9.5g = $3.69 per gram
- Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder: $48 / 10g = $4.80 per gram
- {Drugstore option} Covergirl Advanced Radiance Age-Defying Pressed Powder: $7.89 / 11g = $0.72 per gram.
Obviously, out of all of these – the Charlotte Tilbury powder is the most expensive. I also realized that pressed powders have NOTHING on loose powders! Loose powders have upwards of 25 grams!
Other notes on this product is that it is vegan-friendly, gluten-free, sulfate-free, and not tested on animals!
Claims and Benefits
One of the main claims of this powder is that it “features ingredients to prevent excess shine and brighten complexions.”
Other claims include:
- Effortlessly flawless skin in a silk touch
- Soft focus micro powders from nano-particles to blur away lines and imperfections, sitting like a soft micro-fine cashmere veil on top of your skin
- Rose wax and almond oil hydrates your skin throughout the day and smoothens flawlessly over your skin
- Nourishing actives soothe and restore skin, with light-reflecting ingredients diffusing and reflecting light for a luminous complexion and even finish all day
Note: These claims are taken directly off of the Charlotte Tilbury website.
The Packaging
You already know that I love talking about packaging! The presentation and packaging of high end products is really important to me because I feel like you are paying extra to have that experience.
Charlotte Tilbury definitely does not disappoint. This powder compact is beautiful! The outer carton is a deep maroon color which gold print on it. The compact itself is a rose gold metallic color with the maroon CT symbol on the front. The inside has a decent sized mirror on the lid section. Of course, the powder sits in the bottom and then there is the brand name appears on the left side and a little star appears on the right, engraved into the compact. I have really enjoyed seeing this powder in my daily makeup pictures on Instagram as well!
My Review
I have mixed feelings about this powder. If we are solely focusing on the powder and how it effects my skin, then I like it! It definitely sets down my makeup and has a smooth, soft texture. It is VERY, VERY finely milled so it does come across quite natural and radiant. Although it is finely milled, it doesn’t kick up a lot of product when you dip your brush into it.
The powder is really beautiful! However, I don’t think it is a “magic” powder. I do not notice a miracle affect on my skin to justify the price. I liked the way my skin looked but I think my skin looks similar when using more affordable powders as well.
On top of that, I have already hit pan on this powder. I would estimate that I have used it 30-35 times which is NOT enough times to have already hit pan. There of course is still plenty of product left but I feel like I am going to fly through it. I did you this powder to set my whole face – if you only set your under eyes or t-zone area, then you will get more value out of this.
I, personally, don’t think this powder is worth the money. Its so sad because I do really like it but I can’t justify buying it again! I am happy to have tried it and am enjoying using it but I won’t be re-purchasing.
I would LOVE to know what you think of this powder. Have you tried it? Did you hit pan as quickly as I did?

Very well said! I like this powder, but I can’t get heavy-handed or it will look too heavy. I think I’m team loose powder!

Thank you! I think I am team loose powder too – I have been obsessed with the Too Faced Peach Perfect powder lately and it really doesn’t compare with anything else. It’s my absolutely favorite!

Loved reading this post! That packaging is so so beautiful and luxurious, but the product doesn’t sound amazing for that price point, which is such a shame!

Exactly! I am sure some people will think that it is worth the price but I just can’t justify it. It really is a shame.

I can’t believe how quickly you hit pan! It would be so expensive to keep buying ☹️ It is very pretty looking, though. I don’t have anything from Charlotte Tillbury!

I know – I was not expecting to hit pan so quickly! I was so shocked. And I can’t even imagine buying it again!! Charlotte Tilbury has a lot of beautiful products that are worth it though! Like her Magic Cream is soooo BEAUTIFUL!

I felt exactly the same way about this powder. If it was a drugstore powder I’d probably love it because it is good it’s just not that good to justify the price. I also used it up really quickly!

Yeah, if this was $15-20 then I would probably recommend / re-purchase but definitely can’t justify it at the luxury pricing. Did you use it completely up?

I smashed the last bit and it wasn’t the same after I tried to fix it but I used most of it up x

Thank you for such an honest review, I really appreciate it! It’s so hard with these luxury products I find, to try and find something that is truly worth it.

Of course – I have no reason to be untruthful! Its just important to do your research before buying a luxury product. I think there are a lot of amazing products out there that would probably be worth the money!

Oh this powder! I loved the way this looked on my skin but I went through it so quickly and can’t bring myself to repurchase it on principle. Compared to a lot of brands within the same price range, I’m almost annoyed with it. X

I am almost annoyed too – like this powder is so expensive! There is no reason why it should be used up so quickly! In what world could someone afford to repurchase it! Glad I’m not the only one!
